November Activities and Themes

November brings a perfect opportunity to celebrate gratitude and introduce little ones to the spirit of Thanksgiving. Here’s a sneak peek into some of the fun activities we’ll be exploring this month:

1. Pumpkin-Themed Math and Science Activities Since Theodore loved working with pumpkins last month, we’ll continue using them as learning tools. We’ll count pumpkin seeds, explore pumpkin textures, and learn about their life cycle. This will help him practice math skills (like counting and sorting) while introducing basic science concepts.

2. DIY Thanksgiving Crafts and Decorations We’ll add a creative touch to the season with simple Thanksgiving crafts. These might include making handprint turkeys, creating gratitude placemats, or designing a Thanksgiving wreath together. These projects will allow Theodore to practice his fine motor skills and creativity while adding festive decorations to our home.

3. Teaching Toddlers About Gratitude and Thankfulness One of my goals this month is to introduce Theodore to the concept of gratitude in a way he can understand. We’ll start a simple “Gratitude Journal” where we write or draw something we’re thankful for each day. This can be as simple as appreciating a favorite toy, a family member, or a fun activity we did. Over time, this practice will hopefully help him recognize the many good things around him.

4. Thanksgiving-Themed Busy Book or Activity Guide To keep things engaging, I’m creating a Thanksgiving-themed busy book with interactive pages for Theodore. This will include coloring pages, matching games, and simple puzzles related to Thanksgiving and fall. A busy book is a wonderful way to reinforce learning themes, especially for days when we’re indoors and looking for something fun and educational to do.

If you’re a parent looking for holiday ideas, I’d love for you to follow along or try out some of these activities with your little one. Let’s make the most of this special time, building memories and learning together.

Stay tuned for more updates, and don’t forget to check out the latest resources on my blog’s Resources Page for new printable activities, planners, and more!

Until next time, happy learning and creating!
